About Our Church

Our History.

Founded in early 1960, as a cosmopolitan church to minister to the oil and gas working community, First Baptist Church, Aggrey Road with a missionary couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Davis planted the preaching station.

Victory Baptist Church was quite different as it was an English-speaking church from its inception May 6, 1979 the name "Victory Baptist Church" was adopted and in May 27, 1979 The Victory Baptist Church (VBC) was organized.

The name Victory Baptist Church was changed in 2008 to The Victory Community Baptist Church (TVCBC) as a result of incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

In 2003, Rev Gideon B. Bagudu was released by Rev. Dr. Ishola to consider and accept the call extended to him by The Victory Baptist Church, and since then till date, he has been the under-shepherd of The Victory Baptist Church, Port Harcourt, Rivers State

In 2011, TVCBC established the Woji Satelitte Church in line with its Mission of Winning Port Harcourt and the World to Christ.

One of the Serving Deacons was sent to lead the Church and after being ordained, Pastor Akhere Aisiri was installed as the Woji Satelitte Pastor.

Since then the Rumuodara and Ada-George Satelitte Churches have been created.
